Sales Associate - Hearth

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Sales Professional to join our team. The ideal candidate would have 2 or more years selling experience with wood, gas, pellet stoves and fireplaces. Persons with 2 or more years of hearth appliance installation experience are also encouraged to apply. Persons with appliance sales experience have some skill sets that make them able to learn this job quickly. Successful candidates will earn industry certifications within first 6 months of employment.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that meet their needs.
• Utilize phone etiquette to handle customer inquiries and provide information about products and services.
• Operate cash registers and manage cash handling procedures accurately.
• Process transactions efficiently using POS systems while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Engage in needs based selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Maintain organized stock levels on the sales floor, ensuring that merchandise is well-displayed and accessible. Cleaning of showrooms, break rooms and bathrooms.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and maintain a positive work environment.
• Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a resolution that meets their expectations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the hearth industry or sales of appliances.
• Persons with appliance sales experience or appliance installation have some skill sets that make them able to learn this job quickly.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
• Familiarity with cash registers, cash handling, and POS systems is a plus.
• Inventory control experience is a plus.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers.
• A proactive approach to upselling products and services to enhance the shopping experience.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stock management.
