Job Purpose

The Sales Design Assistant supports the DesignSales Consultant in delivering professional, helpful, and courteous customer experience. This role assists in daily showroom operations, customer interactions, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth workflow and enhance the overall customer experience. The assistant contributes to maintaining a clean, organized showroom and supports the sales team in meeting customer needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with opening and closing the showroom, ensuring cleanliness of the space, including bathrooms; take out trash and water plants as needed.
  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner and direct them to the appropriate sales consultant.
  • Answer phone calls, take messages, and route calls or inquiries to the appropriate team member.
  • Keep price books up to date and ensure printer and office supplies are stocked.
  • Maintain showroom literature, update displays, and remove discontinued products under the guidance of the DesignSales Consultant.
  • Stay informed about product lines, new arrivals, and design trends to better support the sales team.
  • Attend training sessions and webinars when required to build foundational product knowledge.
  • Provide general assistance to the sales team during customer consultations, such as retrieving samples or materials.
  • Prepare and organize paperwork and assist with data entry or customer records in CRM systems as directed.
  • Support the DesignSales Consultant in preparing design layouts or quotes using tools like 20/20 (training may be provided).
  • Communicate with vendors, contractors, or warehouse staff to support scheduling and logistics, as directed.
  • Assist in maintaining showroom displays, product tags, and signage.
  • Help coordinate product deliveries by communicating necessary information to the warehouse or customers.
  • Contribute ideas or suggestions for improving showroom appearance or customer experience.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions with a supportive and collaborative attitude.
  • Follow company policies and uphold the company's values in all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the DesignSales Consultant or Showroom Manager.

Qualifications

  • College degree in Interior Design.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow instructions.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn about sales processes and product lines.
  • Basic computer skills: experience with Microsoft Office is a plus.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
