Sales & Design Consultant

Position Type: Part-Time (10 hours per week with opportunity for increased hours and advancement to a full-time position)

Position Summary

Starr Light Blinds is seeking a motivated, organized, and customer-focused Sales & Design Consultant to support our growing window treatment business. This role combines administrative support, customer service, in-home design consultations, and sales responsibilities. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong organizational skills, and is confident helping customers select the perfect blinds, shades, and shutters for their homes.

Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Customer Consultations

  • Conduct in-home consultations with prospective customers.
  • Measure windows accurately for blinds, shades, and shutter installations.
  • Present product samples and educate customers on available options.
  • Provide design recommendations based on customer needs, style preferences, and budget.
  • Prepare and present quotes.
  • Close sales and process customer orders.

Customer Service & Follow-Up

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and text.
  • Schedule consultations and installation appointments.
  • Conduct follow-up calls with prospective and existing customers.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships throughout the sales process.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.

Administrative Support

  • Prepare quotes, sales orders, invoices, and related documentation.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales information.
  • Coordinate schedules for consultations and installations.
  • Assist with general office and administrative duties.
  • Support marketing and customer outreach initiatives as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, administrative support, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and email applications.
  • Ability to learn product specifications and installation requirements.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally for in-home consultations.
  • Ability to accurately measure windows and document specifications.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor when meeting customers in their homes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in home improvement, interior design, window treatments, flooring, furniture, real estate, or related industries.
  • Sales closing experience.
  • CRM or customer database experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
