You do not need prior closet or design experience. We will train the right person. What matters most is your ability to connect with people, think creatively, and confidently guide clients to decisions.

The Sales Designer is responsible for growing and developing Inspired Closets’ sales and margin. This includes creating and selling storage solutions for all types of spaces, including meeting with the client, space planning, color/materials selection, design execution, proposal creation, sale, and project management following the Inspired Closets sales and design strategy.

Requirements

• Three years of sales experience OR a college degree
• Strong desire to help others and succeed
• Proven ability to build relationships and close sales
• Strong technology skills, with comfort learning design software and automation tools
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Reliable internet access and transportation
• Willingness to travel for in-home consultations across Vermont

• You confidently lead clients through a structured sales process—from discovery to design to closing
• You bring B2C sales experience or a proven ability to build trust and guide decisions
• You take ownership of your pipeline—generating opportunities through follow-up, referrals, and initiative, not relying solely on company-provided leads
• You are comfortable working in clients’ homes and guiding real-time decisions on design, budget, and value
• You are empathetic, client-focused, and skilled at understanding how people live and what they need
• You have a natural ability for creative thinking and problem-solving (we will train you on the technical side)
• You are coachable and committed to learning and executing a proven sales process
• You are tech-comfortable and can quickly learn design and CRM systems
• You can think on your feet—handling objections, adapting solutions, and navigating pricing conversations
• You want to be part of a team while owning your performance and results

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new business through networking, community involvement, and personal outreach
• Lead clients through the full sales process and consistently close opportunities
• Deliver a premium, on-brand client experience from first interaction through final decision
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and current clients
• Design customized solutions that align with each client’s needs, lifestyle, and budget
• Maintain consistent follow-up to nurture relationships, secure referrals, and convert opportunities into results

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt position, with a minimum of 38 hours, five days per week. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the Sales Designer is regularly required to talk and listen. The Sales Designer is frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, crouch, use hands to touch/handle, and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to ascend/descend stairs and ladders. Occasionally lift and move supplies, samples, and staging items up to 25 pounds.

Travel

Every designer must have a vehicle. Travel is necessary during the business day.
