Sales Development Representative (SDR), Managed Services

About Kloudlyn

Kloudlyn is a Canadian managed-services engineering company built on one idea: Outcomes, Not Hours. We don't sell headcount or timesheets, we deliver outcomes: reliable infrastructure, secure environments, working software, and AI systems that actually ship.

We run a seven-pillar managed services practice (Cloud, Web & Mobile Development, Infrastructure Operations, Cybersecurity, Agentic AI Workflows, Data & Analytics, and QA & Testing) for clients across North America, with a team spanning Canada and India.

We're now scaling outbound demand generation, and this is a founding seat: our first dedicated SDR, with real ownership of the pipeline engine and a direct line to the founders who close what you open.

The Role — Pipeline Owner, Not a Script Reader

This is not a call-center tele-sales job. You are the first human touch in a high-trust B2B sale to engineering leaders, CTOs, VPs of Engineering, CIOs at growing North American tech companies. Your mission: find the companies bleeding money on half-done technology, and get their leaders into a conversation with our founders.

What that means in practice:

  • Outbound prospecting into North America — Build and work targeted lists of Toronto/GTA and US tech companies; run multi-channel outreach (phone, email, LinkedIn) to decision-makers.
  • Qualify against our Ideal Customer Profile — Listen for the signals we've mapped (spiraling cloud bills, abandoned projects, overwhelmed IT teams) and separate real pain from polite curiosity.
  • Book the entry conversation — Your core conversion goal: booked discovery calls and Cost-of-Half-Done Assessments (our 30-minute diagnostic offer) with qualified leaders, handed off to the founders for the commercial conversation.
  • Sell alongside AI, not against it — We build our own voice-AI platform. You'll use AI tools for research, personalization, and call analysis, you bring the judgment, credibility, and human touch the AI can't.

What You'll Do

  • Research and build prospect lists: Toronto/GTA + US tech companies matching our ICP; identify and map decision-makers (CTO, VP Engineering, CIO, Head of Infrastructure)
  • Run structured multi-channel sequences, calls, personalized emails, LinkedIn touches, hitting weekly activity and conversation targets
  • Qualify prospects with discovery questions; disqualify politely and quickly when the fit isn't there
  • Book qualified discovery calls / Cost-of-Half-Done Assessments into founder calendars; ensure prospects show up (confirmation, reminder, no-show recovery)
  • Maintain rigorous CRM hygiene, every touch, note, and next step logged
  • Run calling during North American morning hours (evening IST shift, see below)
  • Feed real objection language and market signals back into messaging and campaign tuning
  • Collaborate daily with the founders and the Canada team over chat and video

What You'll Bring

Must-haves (we screen hard on these):

  • 1.5–4 years of B2B outbound sales/business development experience on an international process (calling/emailing North American or UK buyers)
  • Excellent spoken English — clear, confident, accent-neutral phone conversations with senior technology executives
  • Strong written English — personalized emails and LinkedIn messages that don't read like templates
  • Comfort with an evening IST shift (approximately 2:00 PM–11:00 PM IST, core calling window 6:00–10:30 PM IST to hit North American mornings), this is the job; if late-evening work is a blocker, this isn't your role
  • CRM discipline (HubSpot, Zoho, Salesforce, or similar), you log everything, always
  • Coachability — you review your own call recordings, take feedback, and iterate fast
  • Resilience and professionalism, outbound is a numbers game played with craft

Nice-to-haves (any of these make you stand out):

  • Sold technology services (IT services, managed services, cloud, dev shops, SaaS) rather than pure B2C products
  • Enough technical vocabulary to hold a credible 2-minute conversation about cloud, infrastructure, security, or software delivery (you don't need to be technical, you need to not sound lost)
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator / outreach tooling experience (Apollo, Outreach, Salesloft, Instantly, or similar)
  • Experience using AI tools in your sales workflow (research, drafting, call analysis)
  • Exposure to account-based marketing or founder-led sales motions in a startup

Why This Role

  • Founding seat, founder access: first SDR, direct line to the people who close your meetings, no layers, no scripts handed down from a distant manager.
  • A real career path: this seat grows with the engine, SDR → Senior SDR / pipeline team lead, or a track toward closing (AE) as we scale. You choose the branch.
  • AI-augmented selling: work at a company that builds AI voice tooling, you'll sell with tools most SDRs won't touch for years.
  • Premium offer, clear mission: you're not pushing a commodity, you're offering engineering leaders a diagnostic that finds the money their half-done technology is burning.
  • Professional employment: full-time employment in India via our employer-of-record partner, statutory benefits, PF, insurance, structured payroll. No informal contractor arrangement.
  • Quarterly upskilling budget (courses, certifications, sales community memberships).
