Sales Floor Associate/Cashier

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING: THE POSITION REQUIRES YOU TO SPEAK INTERMEDIATE SPANISH OR PORTUGUESE DURING WORK. This is a part time position (no full week available) from 7:00am to 4:00pm with an hour break. Please only apply if you are not looking for a full time position. This is a sales position, you need to be comfortable speaking to customers on a daily basis.

We are looking for a Paint Store Assistant to provide excellent customer service. This is not a clerical position, it’s a hands on, and fast paced position at some times of the day. Candidates with good communication skills who can make customers feel welcome in our store will stand out. You will learn to help identify client needs and answer questions about our products and services and recommend solutions. A positive attitude and a desire to promptly resolve potential customer issues or complaints will make you successful in this role. Ultimately, you will ensure that customers leave our store satisfied and you will contribute to the store’s profitability.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers
• Provide information (e.g. product features, pricing and after-sales services)
• Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
• Cross-sell products
• Ensure racks are fully stocked
• Mix paint to fulfill customer’s orders.
• Load and Unload Paint Buckets (up to 5 gallons).

Skills

• Ability to lift 5 gallon bucket of paint is required. Please do not apply if this not something you are not physically able or willing to do.
• High school degree preferably. Full shift (8hours) availability is a MUST for the days covered.
• At least intermediate Spanish OR Portuguese are a must. The position sometimes requires you to take care of customers that don't speak english.
• Some work experience as a Retail Sales Representative, Sales Associate or similar roles is required.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of building trusting relationships
• Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Previous experience in a Paint Store is a plus.
