A store manager oversees daily operations, which includes managing staff (hiring, training, scheduling), controlling inventory, and ensuring high customer satisfaction. They are also responsible for financial goals, such as meeting sales targets and managing budgets, as well as enforcing store policies and health and safety regulations. Key responsibilities:

  • Staff management: Recruit, train, and supervise employees, manage schedules, and conduct performance reviews.
  • Operations: Ensure smooth daily operations, manage cash handling, and maintain the store's organization and visual presentation.
  • Inventory control: Oversee stock levels, conduct inventory counts, order new products, and prevent loss.
  • Sales and financial management: Set and meet sales goals, manage budgets, analyze sales data, and prepare financial reports.
  • Customer service: Handle customer complaints, ensure high levels of service, and develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Enforce store policies, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and implement loss prevention measures.
  • Marketing and strategy: Develop and implement business strategies to attract customers, enhance profitability, and create promotional displays.
