Our Sales Manager will lead our efforts in growing paint sales within the general industry market. This role will be responsible for developing new business, managing key accounts, and working closely with our technical and product teams to deliver tailored solutions to customers. This is a home office-based position.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Support of market development and creation of marketing concepts. This should include feature and benefit information for department products, by means of targeted monitoring of both market and competitive activity. Implementation and continuous improvement of these concepts.
  • Independent account supervision and support of customers. Acquire a deep understanding of customer needs and requirements.
  • Contracts: Serve as support for customer contracts and agreements and assure the successful implementation of those agreements using agreed upon terms.
  • Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives. Ensure you maintain trustful relationships with our customers so they do not turn to our competition.
  • Responsible for the knowledge and achievement of key performance indicators. Responsible for the knowledge and achievement of corrective action responses if key performance metrics are below goal.
  • This position includes acceptance, involvement, and performance in special projects which may come up on an as needed basis as determined by assigned team and management
  • Travel Requirements are 75% of the time or as otherwise agreed upon with your supervisor.
Role Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three years experience minimum of relevant experience with industrial coatings or relevant industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Strong negotiating skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with SAP software (preferred).
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint).
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • The position requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally, including to countries and customers that may require proof of vaccination.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Expected to travel 75% of the month unless otherwise agreed with Sales and Marketing Director.
  • Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.
  • This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
