Sales Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Manager to lead our dynamic sales team and drive revenue growth across our retail operations. This pivotal role involves developing strategic sales initiatives, managing daily store activities, and fostering a customer-centric environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a passion for retail management. As a Sales Manager, you will motivate your team to achieve sales targets, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure operational excellence through effective management of inventory, merchandising, and staff development.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise the sales team to meet and exceed sales goals through motivating, coaching, and performance management.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies aligned with company objectives to maximize profitability.
  • Oversee daily store operations including inventory management, pricing, merchandising, and stock replenishment to ensure optimal product availability.
  • Conduct recruiting efforts by interviewing potential employees, onboarding new hires, and providing ongoing training & development to enhance team skills.
  • Manage employee orientation programs, payroll processing, cash handling procedures, and scheduling shifts to maintain smooth store functioning.
  • Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions, inventory control, and financial reporting while ensuring accuracy in retail math calculations.
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards by addressing customer inquiries promptly and resolving issues effectively.
  • Coordinate marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost store traffic and sales performance.
  • Oversee budgeting processes, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures to meet financial targets.
  • Supervise daily cashiering duties including cashier training, cashiering procedures, and ensuring compliance with phone etiquette standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, store policies, and legal regulations while fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork.

Experience

  • Proven experience in retail management or sales leadership roles with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of retail math, inventory management, merchandising techniques, and POS systems.
  • Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities are preferred for diverse customer engagement.
  • Experience in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding employees, and conducting training & development sessions.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing, bookkeeping tasks, budgeting, and store administration is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments involving cash handling and customer service excellence is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently with strong organizational skills and time management abilities.
