Sales Manager

I. Position Overview:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing, developing, initiating, and executing sales and marketing activities to link sales goals and profitability with the global business plan. This position will identify and cultivate new strategic alliances and manage existing ones. The Sales Manager will work in a collaborative environment with the senior management team to maximize organic and non-organic growth opportunities, revenue and net profits. This role will have responsibility for increasing the business’ market position and market share by building strategic relationships in the Beverage, Bakery, Dairy, Pharma and Meats marketplace. The Sales Manager will manage relationships with other staff functions to ensure appropriate resources are available and focused on supporting sales objectives.

II. Specific Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Sales Development of long-term sales growth strategy on a regional level for assigned platform

2. Work closely with sales and technical staff to identify business development opportunities, develop commercial solutions, and ensure effective focus through commercialization.

3. Build and strengthen strategic relationships with key decision makers within customer organization ensure deep insights on customer priorities and objectives and assess fit with the companies’ abilities in terms of products, technology, and intellectual property capabilities

4. Forecasting and supply assurance for assigned region.

5. Contracting strategy development and negotiation for assigned platform and/or ingredients.

6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date information as it relates to pipeline of customer projects and opportunities to ensure full support of the global sales staff and distributors.

7. Build internal relationships and ensure effective ways of working across staff teams and resources, e.g. R&D, Legal and Regulatory, Procurement, Manufacturing, Product/Process Development, Customer Service and Marketing.

8. Overall regional sales budget responsibility - creating, managing, and working with support resources to execute the business plan

9. Prepare monthly sales reports, updated sales forecast to provide direction for production planning, Innovation and New Business Development

10. The Sales Manager would assist in the identification and managing new business development opportunities.

11. Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.

12. Participate in the development and execution of the regional strategic plan with the management team

13. Facilitates financial analysis in support of strategic planning and target project prioritization

14. Works closely with the marketing team to develop insights for growth among key tier 1 and tier 2 customers.

15. Other duties as required

III. Essential Skills and Experience:

Education or Equivalent: (Minimum required to perform job)

· A degree in a recognized University is desirable, either in Food Technology related career, Veterinary or Business Administration

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

1. Appropriate sales experience in the business to-business ingredient industry.

2. Technical experience is a plus

3. 5+ years of experience managing regional accounts

4. Experience with advanced large account management, planning and negotiation. Must be able to successfully engage with both very senior as well as more junior customer partners.

5. Capable of effectively working at both the global and local levels through experience of working across different countries and cultures.

6. The Sales Manager must be able to work in an entrepreneurial organization

7. Fluent in Spanish and English a plus

Pay: $70,500.00 - $83,000.00 per year
