Sales & Administrative Coordinator – Local Produce
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Sales & Administrative Coordinator to help grow our local produce sales and strengthen relationships within our community. Our farm has been operating since the early 1980s and continues to focus on high-quality, locally grown produce. This role is ideal for someone eager to learn, become engaged in a small but growing business, and take pride in connecting customers with exceptional local food.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Relations
- Communicate with current and prospective customers via phone, email, and in person
- Grow and maintain a strong local customer base, including retail and wholesale accounts
- Take customer orders and accurately enter them into QuickBooks
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with existing customers while identifying new sales opportunities
- Assist with regular deliveries and customer outreach
- Create and send marketing emails and customer communications using Mailchimp
Administrative & Office Support
- Answer and direct phone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner
- Arrange and coordinate deliveries and customer pickups
- Enter orders, invoices, and payments into QuickBooks
- Maintain organized records related to orders, payments, and inventory
- Support general administrative tasks to keep operations running smoothly
Operations, Packing & Physical Work
- Pull, pack, and stage produce orders in walk-in coolers
- Perform regular physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and standing for extended periods
- Manage inventory with attention to quality, freshness, and availability
- Assist with manager role at farmers markets as needed, including setup, breakdown, and product handle
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a cooler environment
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and basic administrative systems
- Passion for high-quality, local produce
- Experience with QuickBooks, Google Sheets, and Mailchimp is strongly encouraged but not required; training can be provided
