Role Purpose
To lead the business development, specification, and sales of Canadian mass-timber products (CLT, glulam, engineered wood systems) across the UAE and GCC.
This role converts early-stage architectural interest into specified systems, tender packages, and purchase orders, working closely with Canadian mills and regional contractors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Development
- Identify target projects: schools, offices, resorts, pavilions, modular builds, retrofits/overbuilds.
- Build a 3–6-month pipeline with opportunity values and stages.
- Track tenders, competitions, and design opportunities where timber can be introduced as an alternate to concrete/steel.
2. Technical Sales & Specification
- Conduct presentations, lunch-and-learns with architects, consultants, and developers.
- Work with Canadian mills to produce:
- Pre-con layouts
- Span tables & structural concepts
- Fire, acoustic & sustainability documentation
- Budget pricing (EXW → CIF → DDP)
- Push for timber to be included in Concept / Schematic / DD stages.
3. RFQ Coordination & Pricing
- Manage RFQs end-to-end: quantities, connection systems, logistics, timelines.
- Align payment schedules with clients and mills (deposits, milestones, pre-shipment payments).
- Support contractors with installation planning and sequencing.
4. Key Account Management
- Own relationships with:
- Top 20 developers
- Top 20 architecture/engineering firms
- Tier-1 contractors & modular builders
- Maintain a key account database (decision makers, active jobs, competitor activity).
- Ensure fast turnaround on submittals and pricing.
5. Marketing & Brand Building
- Represent the company at Big 5, Cityscape, WETEX, and industry forums.
- Support digital outreach (LinkedIn targeting, case studies, site visits).
- Arrange factory visits (virtual or physical) with Canadian partners.
6. Reporting & Strategy
- Weekly pipeline updates, monthly sales reporting.
- Track KPIs: specs issued, conversions, forecast vs. target.
- Provide feedback on market conditions, pricing positions, and product gaps.
Ideal Candidate ProfileExperience
- 5–10 years in construction materials sales in UAE/GCC.
- Strong background with:
- Façade systems
- Precast/steel
- Modular or engineered systems
- Structural materials
- Experience selling to architects, consultants, developers, main contractors.
Skills
- Ability to read drawings, understand loads, spans, fire ratings.
- Strong technical-selling & consultative-sales ability.
- Comfortable discussing engineering concepts (with Canadian support).
- Strong CRM discipline and structured reporting.
Education
- Civil Engineering / Architecture / Construction Management, or
- Business degree with strong technical aptitude.
Personal Traits
- High-energy, self-starter, comfortable in early-stage building.
- Excellent relationship builder.
- Willing to travel within GCC.

Pay: AED7,500.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
