Sales Manager, Specialty Papers (Label & Release & Packaging) – Türkiye & Eastern Europe

We are now looking for a Manager, Sales to drive profitable growth for UPM Specialty Materials in the label & release and packaging paper segments in the Turkish and Eastern European markets.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand UPM’s presence in label & release and packaging paper markets across Türkiye and Eastern Europe
  • Manage and grow complex, strategic customer accounts including budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with both existing and new customers, in both established applications and adjacent end-uses
  • Coordinate the global sales of stocklots and second-grade materials, working closely with mills, supply chain, and regional sales teams to optimize volumes, pricing, and customer allocation
  • Ensure transparent prioritization, governance, and reporting related to stocklot and second-grade sales activities
  • Implement UPM pricing, commercial, and service level policies and document individual customer agreements
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance, KPIs, pipeline development, and market trends
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence, customer needs, and value chain insights
  • Use digital tools (CRM, analytics, social media) to enhance sales effectiveness and customer engagement

Who you are

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a commercial or technical field
  • You have at least five years of experience in sales, customer service, marketing, or business development, preferably in specialty papers, packaging, labels, or related industries
  • You have a proven track record in account management and new business development and experience with pricing, forecasting, budgeting, and contract negotiations
  • You are familiar with the label & release and/or packaging paper markets in Türkiye and Eastern Europe
  • You have strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills and are proficient with CRM systems and digital sales tools
  • You can work independently in a cross-functional, international environment, and are willing to travel regularly within the region and occasionally internationally
  • You are fluent in English and Turkish, Eastern European languages are a strong advantage

Additional information

This position can be located in the UPM sales office in Istanbul or it can be home office based in a location enabling convenient travel to key customers in Türkiye and Eastern Europe.

The position holder will report to Director, Label & Release, EMEIA & Americas and in matrix to the Director, Packaging, EMEIA & Americas.
