Job Overview:
The Sales Manager is responsible for driving the sales growth and profitability of the company’s freight brokerage division. This role involves managing a team of sales representatives, developing new business opportunities, and maintaining strong relationships with clients while ensuring high standards of service and operational efficiency. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for creating and implementing sales strategies to expand the customer base, achieve revenue targets, and position the company as a leader in the logistics and transportation industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets for freight brokerage services.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of sales representatives, providing ongoing support and performance management.
- Set clear sales goals and KPIs, track team progress, and hold team members accountable for results.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the sales team.
- Collaborate with senior management to align sales initiatives with company-wide business objectives.
- Business Development:
- Identify and target potential customers in various industries needing freight brokerage services.
- Develop new business relationships through networking, cold calling, lead generation, and attending industry events.
- Present customized freight solutions to clients, including transportation, pricing, and service options.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals while ensuring the company’s margins and profitability goals are met.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients to enhance customer retention and satisfaction.
- Work closely with clients to understand their supply chain needs and provide tailored logistics solutions.
- Address and resolve client concerns or service issues promptly to maintain long-term partnerships.
- Serve as the point of contact for high-value clients, managing key accounts and ensuring top-notch service delivery.
