About Manticore Marketing

We make businesses impossible to ignore. Through bold messaging, conversion-first websites, and scroll-stopping campaigns, we help businesses get seen, remembered, and chosen. Sales is an extension of that promise: consultative, honest, and relentlessly focused on client outcomes. If you’re a strategic seller who understands digital marketing and wants to provide long-term client outcomes, this is your role.

Role Overview — what this job actually is

This is a full-cycle, client-first seller and marketing advisor. You’ll generate leads, run consultative discovery, demo our services, write proposals, collect payments, and personally onboard and steward the clients you bring in. This is not a “sell-and-ghost” position — you will be the ongoing point of contact and advocate for clients across their lifetime with Manticore.

The majority of your time will be on active client prospecting, consults, proposals and demos; the remaining time will be spent on onboarding, project management, account handoffs, and ongoing client management for your book of business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prospecting & Relationship Building

  • Research and develop pipeline through outbound outreach, referrals, networking, local events, and inbound lead follow-up.
  • Build trusted relationships with small-to-mid local business owners/executives across industries (service businesses, retail, professional services, etc.).

Consultative Sales & Demos

  • Conduct discovery calls and in-person consultations to understand business goals, budgets, and pain points.
  • Present clear, compelling demos of our website, content, and paid marketing services that focus on outcomes (traffic, leads, revenue).
  • Translate marketing strategy into concrete deliverables and timelines clients can understand and buy.

Proposals & Closing

  • Prepare professional proposals that include scope, deliverables, timelines, pricing, and success metrics.
  • Negotiate scope and pricing within approved guidelines and close deals.
  • Collect deposits and final payments, coordinate with finance for invoices and receipts.

Client Onboarding & Ownership

  • Lead onboarding for your clients: kickoff meeting, scoping sessions, document collection, and setting expectations.
  • Act as the primary client contact for the first 60–90 days (and ongoing as needed), ensuring a smooth handoff to delivery while maintaining executive sponsorship.
  • Be proactive in status updates, problem solving, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Account Growth & Retention

  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities (SEO, advertising campaigns, social media & content packages, retention packages).
  • Track client health and intervene early to secure renewals and expansion.

Reporting & CRM

  • Maintain accurate CRM records (HubSpot/Basecamp): activities, pipeline stage, forecast, deal notes, and follow-ups.
  • Provide weekly pipeline updates and monthly revenue/forecast reports.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with marketing strategists, designers, developers, and media team to ensure promises are delivered.
  • Provide feedback from the field to improve offerings, pricing, and proposals.

KPI'S - KEY METRICS TO TRACK PERFORMANCE

  • Pipeline progression: qualified leads per month
  • Meetings per week (qualified consults)
  • Proposal to close ratio
  • Revenue booked / month and lifetime value of clients acquired
  • Client retention / churn for your book
  • Time-to-onboard and successful handoff metrics

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years in B2B sales, consultative sales, or agency/new business development (local or regional preferred).
  • Comfortable presenting in person and over screen share; strong demo and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; you can write crisp proposals and explain technical marketing concepts simply.
  • Driven relationship builder — you follow up ruthlessly and care about long-term client trust.
  • Organized CRM user — you keep notes, next steps, and forecasts clean and accurate.
  • Comfortable with basic numbers: reading proposals, margins, and performing ROI conversations with clients.
  • Reliable transportation and local presence in the south-east Idaho area for client meetings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Marketing knowledge: experience with websites, SEO, paid social/search or advertising.
  • Experience using HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar CRM.

The exact mix and base rate will be set based on the candidate’s situation — including schedule, education, experience, travel availability, and marketing knowledge — and will be agreed during the offer stage.
