The Sales & Marketing Executive will be responsible for expanding market presence and driving sales growth of pulses and spices across the retail channel, including Supermarkets, Hypermarkets, and Wholesale/ Cash & Carry outlets. The role also involves developing, managing, and leading the retail sales team to achieve company sales and distribution objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Market Expansion

  • Identify and onboard new retail customers such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, groceries, and cash & carry outlets.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase market penetration and brand visibility.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets in value, volume, and distribution.
  • Manage key retail accounts and maintain long-term customer relationships.
  • Negotiate listings, promotions, pricing, and shelf placement with retail buyers.
  • Execute in-store promotions, sampling activities, and merchandising plans.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams for POS materials, offers, and brand campaigns.
  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and market trends and provide feedback to management.

Team Development & Leadership

  • Recruit, train, and lead the retail sales team (sales executives, merchandisers, promoters).
  • Set sales targets and KPIs for the team and monitor performance.
  • Conduct regular market visits and joint calls to guide and motivate the team.
  • Ensure proper product availability, display, and stock rotation at retail outlets.

Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence updates.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth order processing and collections.
  • Ensure timely collection of payments and adherence to credit policies.

Key Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail sales within FMCG, preferably in pulses, spices, or food products.
  • Proven experience dealing with supermarkets, hypermarkets, and cash & carry customers.
  • Prior experience in leading or supervising a sales team is mandatory.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical skills with ability to track sales performance and market trends.
  • Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to work independently.

Preferred Attributes

  • Existing retail trade contacts in the local market.
  • Valid driving license and preferably with own car. Expenses will be reimbursed.
