Experienced Multi-State Sales Tax Consultant – Remote

About the Role

Join a specialized, dynamic firm where you’ll help clients navigate complex multi-state sales tax issues and do meaningful work that makes a real difference. In this remote role, you’ll work on high-impact client projects, including audit defense, refund opportunities, taxability analysis, and compliance support, while continuing to grow your expertise as part of a supportive, client-focused team.

The position is primarily remote, with occasional travel for onboarding, meetings, training, or client needs.

What You’ll Do

· Lead and support multi-jurisdictional sales tax audit defense, audit management, and refund engagements.

· Research complex state and local tax issues and provide practical, well-reasoned client guidance.

· Prepare filings, petitions, refund claims, and responses to taxing authorities.

· Analyze data, perform reconciliations, and support consulting conclusions with detailed calculations.

· Serve as a trusted point of contact for client questions and ongoing support.

· Travel to client locations as needed.

What You Bring

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.

· Relevant sales/use tax experience. (5+ yrs. multi-state experience preferred)

· Background in sales tax consulting, auditing, or audit defense.

· Strong command of multi-state sales and use tax principles and research.

· Excellent written communication skills, strong judgment, and a client-service mindset.

· Valid driver’s license required.
