About the Job
This job will be based in Barrenjoey’s Abu Dhabi Global Market office, which services the Fixed Income business’s northern hemisphere clients. Daily responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the traders to book trades.
- Assisting the sales desk with client enquiries and risk modelling
- Reconciling risk and revenue throughout the day using a range of tools.
- Providing trade and risk information to traders as required, to help with decision making.
- Problem-solving booking or processing issues. Working with technology as required to ensure all trades are correctly processed on a timely basis.
- Working closely with middle office and settlement colleagues throughout the trade lifecycle.
In addition to the daily responsibilities, the Trading / Sales Assistant will also be involved in:
- Control design and process improvement.
- Cost analysis.
- Involvement in regulatory reform and other change projects, including technology change and testing.
About You
- 2+ years working on, or closely with, a Fixed Income trading desk.
- A good understanding of the mechanics of trading cleared derivatives and bonds.
- Strong numeracy skills.
- Preferred but not essential - familiarity with Bloomberg, Markitwire and trader risk tools, basic coding skills and an understanding of trading revenue attribution.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter, highly organized, able to work independently and take ownership.
- Enjoys working in a team.
- Ability to work under time constraints and manage competing priorities.
