Job Description – Salesperson (Retail Store)

Golden Threads of Assam is a heritage-driven brand dedicated to preserving and promoting Assam’s traditional handloom, especially authentic Muga silk and handcrafted textiles. Through our retail outlet, we aim to offer customers a premium, culturally rich shopping experience while supporting local artisans and weavers.
Role Overview
The Salesperson will be responsible for managing day-to-day retail sales activities at the Golden Threads of Assam store. This role requires excellent customer handling skills, product knowledge, and the ability to convert walk-in customers into satisfied buyers while maintaining the brand’s premium and cultural identity.
Key Responsibilities
· Greet customers warmly and provide a pleasant in-store shopping experience.
· Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products (Muga silk sarees, fabrics, stoles, handcrafted items, etc.).
· Explain product details including fabric quality, weaving process, care instructions, and heritage value.
· Achieve daily and monthly sales targets assigned by the management.
· Handle billing, cash, UPI, and card transactions accurately.
· Maintain cleanliness, visual merchandising, and proper display of products inside the store.
· Manage stock at the outlet, including receiving items, arranging inventory, and reporting shortages or damages.
· Coordinate with the store in-charge/management for replenishment and sales reporting.
· Handle basic customer queries, complaints, and exchanges politely and professionally.
· Support store promotions, festive sales, exhibitions, and special campaigns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Minimum 1–3 years of experience in retail sales (handloom, textiles, apparel, fashion, or lifestyle products preferred).
· Good communication skills in Assamese / Hindi / English (any two preferred).
· Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
· Basic understanding of billing systems and POS machines.
· Honest, presentable, and well-groomed personality.
· Willingness to work on weekends and during festive seasons.
Preferred Qualities
· Interest or background in handloom, textiles, fashion, or Assamese culture.
· Ability to upsell and cross-sell products.
· Patience and attention to detail while handling premium products.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
