Salon Assistant/Stylist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Salon Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Salon Assistant, you will provide exceptional support to our stylists and owner and contribute to creating a welcoming environment for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for the beauty industry to develop their skills and grow with our salon.

Duties:

- Assist stylists with haircuts, color treatments, and other services as needed.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, making recommendations, and ensuring a smooth client experience.
- Maintain a clean and organized salon space, including the front desk and back bar.
- Help with scheduling appointments, taking payments, and handling administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with the team to stay up-to-date on the latest hair trends and techniques.
- Offer guidance and support to new stylists and assist with mentoring.
- Perform hair threading, barbering, and nail care services under the supervision of senior stylists.
- Stay knowledgeable about color theory and hair extensions, making recommendations to clients when necessary.
- Develop strong communication skills, ensuring effective communication with clients and colleagues.
- Provide a positive and welcoming atmosphere for clients, helping them feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit.

Requirements:

- Current Cosmetology license
- knowledge of hair styling, color theory, and hair extensions.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
