Sandwich Artist/Cashier

Toastmaster / Sandwich Maker

Position Title: Toastmaster / Sandwich Maker
Department: Operations
Reports To: Store Manager
Employment Type: Part-Time
Schedule: 5 hours per day, 5 days per week (approximately 25 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $13.00 per hour
Benefits: Benefits available after 90 days of employment, subject to company eligibility requirements.

Position Summary

The Toastmaster / Sandwich Maker is responsible for preparing toasted sandwiches and related menu items according to company recipes and food safety standards. This position plays a key role in providing excellent customer service, maintaining product quality, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare toasted sandwiches, wraps, and other menu items according to established recipes and procedures.
  • Operate sandwich preparation equipment, including toasters, ovens, slicers, and other kitchen tools safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all food products are prepared, handled, and stored in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain ingredient freshness and monitor inventory levels throughout the shift.
  • Assist with food preparation, stocking, and replenishing supplies as needed.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service.
  • Accurately fulfill customer orders and special requests.
  • Keep food preparation areas, equipment, dining areas, and storage areas clean and organized.
  • Follow opening, closing, and shift procedures.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
  • Support team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food service, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive hand motions.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including near ovens and refrigerated areas.

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced food service environment.
  • Frequent interaction with customers and team members.
  • Exposure to kitchen equipment, heat, cleaning chemicals, and food preparation areas.
