The SAP EPPM Consultant is responsible for the implementation, configuration, and support of SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) solutions, enabling organizations to manage their portfolio of initiatives, projects, resources, and financials in alignment with strategic objectives.

The consultant ensures seamless integration of Project System (PS), Portfolio Management (PPM), Resource Management, Commercial Project Management (CPM), and S/4HANA Finance to drive visibility, control, and value realization across enterprise programs and projects.

Key Process Knowledge

The Consultant Must Demonstrate Expertise In

  • Portfolio Management (PPM): Initiative management, portfolio planning, prioritization, and approvals.
  • Project Management (PS/CPM): WBS, networks, milestones, scheduling, cost/revenue planning, billing, and settlement.
  • Resource Management: Capacity planning, staffing, and utilization tracking.
  • Commercial Project Management (CPM): Project financial planning, risk, and issue management.
  • Investment Management (IM): Capital investment planning and project budgeting.
  • Integration: End-to-end integration with FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, and Analytics.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and earned value analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and configure SAP EPPM solutions (Portfolio Mgmt, PS, CPM, Resource Mgmt).
  • Define and support portfolio prioritization frameworks to align with business strategy.
  • Set up and manage project structures, planning, and execution.
  • Configure financial planning, cost/revenue tracking, and project settlements.
  • Enable resource planning and capacity management across portfolios.
  • Support commercial project management for client-facing or large-scale projects.
  • Ensure integration with SAP S/4HANA Finance, Controlling, Procurement, and HR.
  • Develop portfolio and project reports, dashboards, and KPIs for executives.
  • Conduct end-user training, workshops, and UAT support.
  • Ensure compliance with project governance and financial standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or IT.
  • SAP Certified Application Associate – EPPM / PS / PPM / CPM preferred.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of SAP consulting experience with at least 3–4 years in SAP EPPM.
  • At least 2 full-cycle implementations of SAP EPPM or PPM/CPM with S/4HANA.
  • Strong experience with portfolio, program, and project management processes.
  • Experience in industries with capital-intensive or large-scale projects (engineering, utilities, construction, oil & gas, government).

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SAP Portfolio Mgmt, PS, CPM, and Resource Mgmt.
  • Expertise in project financial integration with FI/CO, MM, SD.
  • Hands-on experience in portfolio dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools (SAC, Fiori apps).
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and best practices for EPPM.

Soft Skills

  • Strong leadership and advisory skills.
  • Ability to engage with C-level stakeholders on portfolio strategy alignment.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to balance strategy and execution.
