Job Title: SAP FICO Functional Consultant

Location: Remote (Eastern Europe / India / Egypt preferred)
Contract Duration: 12 Months (6 months implementation + 6 months support)
Industry: Retail (SAP S/4HANA IS Retail)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP FICO Functional Consultant to support a major SAP S/4HANA (IS Retail) transformation programme. This role will focus on delivering and supporting end-to-end financial processes within a retail environment, ensuring seamless integration between finance, POS, and operational systems.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical consultants to ensure accurate financial reporting, reconciliation, and system performance across multiple retail locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support SAP FICO functional activities within S/4HANA IS Retail
  • Configure and manage:
    • General Ledger (GL)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Asset Accounting and Financial Closing
  • Support financial transactions linked to retail operations and POS systems
  • Ensure accurate financial reconciliation across showrooms, regions, and business units
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate into functional specifications
  • Support integration with:
    • SAP SD (sales transactions)
    • SAP MM (procurement and inventory postings)
    • POS and retail systems
  • Participate in full implementation lifecycle:
    • Blueprint / design
    • Configuration
    • Testing (SIT/UAT)
    • Go-live and hypercare
  • Provide post-go-live support and issue resolution
  • Ensure financial data integrity, compliance, and governance
  • Work closely with technical teams (ABAP, CPI) for enhancements and integrations
Key Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience as an SAP FICO Functional Consultant
  • Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA (mandatory)
  • Mandatory: IS Retail experience
  • Minimum 3 end-to-end SAP implementations
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Financial accounting and reporting
    • Retail financial processes and POS integration
    • Multi-entity financial reconciliation
  • Ability to work independently and manage data governance responsibilities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with retail financial reporting tools (e.g. ClickSense or similar)
  • Exposure to large-scale transformation programmes
  • Understanding of integration across finance, retail, and supply chain systems
  • Arabic language skills (preferred but not essential)
