SAP Functional Consultant in packaging manufacturing

An SAP Functional Consultant with 10+ years of experience in packaging manufacturing typically leads and designs SAP solutions for packaging-specific business processes, including production planning, supply chain management, and inventory control. Key responsibilities involve translating packaging industry requirements into SAP configurations, conducting detailed business analysis, leading implementation projects, mentoring junior consultants, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients on SAP strategy and optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

· Business Process Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of current packaging industry business processes to identify areas for improvement and translate these into functional requirements for SAP solutions.

· SAP Solution Design & Configuration: Lead the design and configuration of relevant SAP modules (e.g., PP, MM, WM, QM) to meet the unique needs of packaging manufacturing, such as product costing, bill of materials, and quality management.

· Project Leadership: Oversee end-to-end SAP implementation or enhancement projects, from gathering requirements and defining scope to managing timelines and deliverables.

· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and other functional consultants to ensure seamless integration of SAP solutions within the client's IT landscape.

· Mentorship & Advisory: Guide and train end-users on SAP functionalities, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert recommendations for enhancing their SAP environment.

· Documentation & Testing: Develop and maintain essential project documentation, including functional specifications, test plans, and user manuals, to support project success.

Required Skills & Expertise

· Industry Expertise: Deep understanding of packaging manufacturing processes, challenges, and best practices.

· SAP Module Proficiency: Extensive experience with SAP modules relevant to manufacturing, such as SAP S/4HANA for Production Planning (PP), Materials Management (MM), Warehouse Management (WM), and Quality Management (QM).

· Implementation Methodologies: Proven experience in leading SAP projects using various implementation methodologies.

· Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex business problems and develop effective SAP-based solutions.

· Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to lead teams, mentor junior consultants, and effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
