Scientific Drilling is looking for a SAP Material Coordinator to join our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA. Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging service company serving customers in oilgas and sustainable geothermal worldwide. Applied Technologies Associates is a forward-thinking leader in the design, manufacturing, and repair space, dedicated to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. We are currently looking for a results-driven SAP Material Coordinator to join our team and take ownership of planning activities using SAP systems to ensure material availability and production efficiency.

As the SAP Materials Coordinator, you will be responsible for the governance, strategy, and execution of material master data across the enterprise. You will work closely with supply chain, procurement, finance, and engineering teams to maintain high data quality and ensure SAP supports efficient operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the creation, maintenance, and governance of SAP Material Master data.
  • Develop and enforce standards, policies, and procedures related to material master data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Implement data quality controls and regularly audit data for compliance.
  • Support SAP projects involving material master data, including system upgrades and process improvements.
  • Train and support users on SAP material master processes and best practices.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide regular reports on data quality and team efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business/Information Systems, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience managing SAP Material Master data.
  • Deep knowledge of SAP MM (Materials Management) module and data structures.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and material master data lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with tools like SAP MDG (Master Data Governance), WinShuttle, or data migration tools.
  • Background in manufacturing, engineering or distribution environments.
  • Project management experience (PMP or Agile certification is a plus).

Location, Physical Requirements, and PPE:

Manufacturing:

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, identify colors, hear with aid, see , write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry 25 lbs. and under, perceive depth, and operate motor equipment.
  • Conditions include working inside. Working around moving objects, machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Work with heated soldering iron and flux. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to, intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, grease, dust, oils and solvents.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, hand tools, power tools, air tools, microscope and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, reinforced toed shoes, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
