SAT & ACT Test Prep Tutor

Swell Education, a boutique San Francisco Bay Area test prep company, seeks expert instructors to help students prepare for the SAT or ACT. We have a great client base of nice families with motivated students seeking admission to top colleges and high schools.

We are looking for a few of the best tutors out there to help our students reach their goals. The ideal tutor is charismatic, whip-smart, and comfortable with a high degree of autonomy. Career tutors who value the flexibility to tailor instruction to each student and focus on tutoring and mentoring while we handle all administration and marketing tend to be great fits.

We are looking for remote tutors as well as candidates who can work with students in person in San Francisco or Marin. In person meetings usually take place in students' homes.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

--Mastery of the SAT (all areas) including fluency with DESMOS and/or expertise in all four ACT subject areas and familiarity with the new ACT.

--Familiarity with College Board, ACT and third party SAT or ACT resources

--Great communication skills and the ability to engage students

--Strong work ethic and desire to drive for results

--High test scores and degree from top college or university

--Minimum 1 year SAT or ACT teaching or tutoring experience

--A flexible schedule, with some availability on weekends and evenings (pacific time).

--Ability to start this summer and commit through June 2027 or beyond

Teachers are hired to tutor students one-on-one, primarily during evenings and weekends. This is a part-time position: many of our instructors maintain full-time positions, explore other interests, or pursue advanced degrees concurrently.

Compensation: the pay ranges from $50-80/hour depending on whether the work is remote or in person as well as depth and breadth of experience. Instructors can expect to teach between 1.5 and 10 hours per week, depending on skill set, availability, demand, and preferences.
