SAT Instructor

Join Capstone Education's team of talented and dynamic SAT teachers! Capstone SAT prep classes run for 8 week terms during every season of the year. All classes are in-person, with courses in Haverford, PA; Malvern, PA; and Newtown, PA. We work with dozens of students across the Philadelphia Metro area, helping them achieve impressive score improvements. Right now, we are hiring teachers for the summer term but we hope our teachers continue with us for multiple seasons. Our summer classes meet on weekday evenings; our school-year classes meet on weekends.

For a typical day, you will arrive to the site about an hour before class begins to meet with your director: we’ll reimburse transportation costs and provide a meal. The classes themselves run for three hours. From your perspective, you’d be teaching two 90 minute classes to different groups of students in the SAT subject in which you are most comfortable – math or verbal. We try to make life as easy for you as possible--we never have more than 10 students in a class and we always group students according to their scores so you can find the right pace at which to teach. We also provide you with a fantastic curriculum and lesson notes.

We don't require our teachers to have excessive experience or a minimum SAT score; we’re looking for teachers who are dynamic and energetic in the classroom, and who can also generate score improvements. The job does require some preparation time before each class and good communication between you, your students, and your director.

Interviewing is a two-step process. First you’ll do a standard 20-minute preliminary virtual interview. If that goes well, you’ll be invited back for an in-person teaching demonstration. If you’re hired, you’ll be notified shortly thereafter and we'll coordinate a paid training session before our summer course begins.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • Paid training

  • Are there any periods of time in the summer of 2026 when you'll be away and unable to work? (please list dates as clearly as possible)
