Responsibilities
- Teach SAT Reading and Grammar courses to high school students.
- Help students systematically understand Digital SAT reading question types, grammar rules, sentence structure, logical relationships, and test-taking strategies.
- Develop personalized score-improvement plans based on each student’s academic level and learning needs.
- Conduct mock test reviews, error analysis, and targeted skill-building sessions.
- Explain difficult concepts clearly in both English and Mandarin Chinese, especially for non-native English-speaking students.
- Provide regular feedback on student progress and help parents understand students’ strengths, weaknesses, and improvement areas.
- Assist with the development and improvement of course materials, handouts, question banks, and mock test explanations.
- Participate in trial classes, public lectures, or parent consultation sessions when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or above required; degree from a top U.S. university preferred.
- Strong English skills and solid knowledge of SAT Reading and Grammar concepts.
- Ability to teach bilingually in English and Mandarin Chinese, with clear Mandarin explanations and accurate English instruction.
- Prior SAT high-score experience, teaching experience, or successful student score-improvement cases preferred.
- Familiarity with the Digital SAT format, question types, and recent exam changes.
- Patient, responsible, and able to communicate clearly with high school students.
- Availability for stable in-person teaching in Irvine is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAT 1550+ score or strong performance in the English section preferred.
- Experience teaching AP English, TOEFL, ACT English, or academic writing preferred.
- Previous experience in tutoring centers, small-group classes, or one-on-one instruction.
- Ability to independently design lesson plans, course materials, and mock test review sessions.
- Familiarity with common reading and grammar challenges faced by Chinese-speaking students.
Pay: $52,262.29 - $62,939.52 per year
