SAT Tutor (ELA or ELA/Math)

Job Overview

We are specifically looking for candidates who are strong in SAT Reading & Writing (ELA). Candidates who can also teach SAT Math are strongly preferred. In this role, you will deliver engaging, personalized tutoring sessions that help students improve their SAT scores, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence in their academic abilities. Must be available evenings/ weekends - hours vary but a commitment of at least 5 hours a week is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored tutoring sessions focused on SAT preparation, emphasizing ELA or combined ELA/Math content areas
• Assess students’ current skill levels and develop customized lesson plans aligned with their goals and learning styles
• Utilize innovative learning technology and teaching tools to enhance instruction and engagement
• Guide students through practice exams, review strategies, and provide constructive feedback to track progress
• Foster a positive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics and encouraging active participation
• Adapt instruction to different learning styles and student needs
• Collaborate with students, parents, and other educators to set achievable goals and monitor ongoing improvement

Experience

• Proven classroom or tutoring experience working with students in grades 9–12, preferably in test preparation or academic coaching
• Strong knowledge of SAT content areas, particularly English Language Arts (reading comprehension, writing, grammar) and Math concepts
• Familiarity with learning technology platforms and digital tools for remote or in-person instruction
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom or tutoring sessions effectively while maintaining student engagement
• Experience working with diverse learners
• Excellent presentation skills coupled with clear writing skills to communicate concepts effectively
