Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to provide personalized academic support to students across grammar and reading. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a passion for teaching, and experience working with diverse learners. This role involves developing engaging lesson plans, utilizing learning technology, and fostering a positive learning environment to help students achieve their educational goals. The Tutor will play a vital role in enhancing student understanding and confidence through tailored instruction and effective classroom management.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions in subjects such as reading, Writing, or other core areas.
• Develop and implement customized lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and student needs.
• Utilize learning technology and digital resources to enhance instructional delivery.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Maintain a positive and encouraging classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Manage classroom activities efficiently, ensuring engagement and discipline.
• Collaborate with educators and parents to support student development, including special education needs.
• Prepare instructional materials and presentations that facilitate effective learning experiences.
• Assist students in developing study skills, time management, and academic confidence.
• Stay current with educational best practices, curriculum developments, and teaching methodologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with classroom management skills.
• Strong knowledge of subject matter such as Reading, Writing, or specific curriculum areas.
• Familiarity with learning technology tools and digital educational resources.
• Experience working with diverse learners, including adult education or special education populations.
• Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Skilled in lesson planning, curriculum development, and assessment techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Strong writing skills for creating instructional materials and reports.
• Prior classroom experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for ongoing professional development is essential.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4.0 – 16.0 per week
