Position Title: Cybersecurity Engineer - Data Loss Prevention & Messaging Security

Location: Glen Allen, VA (Remote)

Position Status: Contract (3 months)

Pay Rate: $75/hr - $77/hr on W2

Position Description: Seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the deployment and management of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies across Microsoft 365, email, endpoints, and network security. This remote role focuses on safeguarding sensitive data by implementing effective security controls, managing Check Point security gateways, and configuring Endpoint Security solutions. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with DLP deployment, messaging security, and security engineering to minimize data exposure risks in regulated environments.

• Lead secure deployment and configuration of DLP solutions for email, endpoints, and network gateways.
• Implement and manage Check Point Smart-1 (R82) security gateways and Endpoint Security policies.
• Configure Microsoft 365 security features, including Exchange and Outlook, to prevent data leaks.
• Assess risks related to data sharing, external recipients, and cloud file sharing platforms.
• Develop security documentation, conduct risk assessments, and validate implementation through testing.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, Compliance, and Messaging teams to ensure secure operations.

• 5+ years of enterprise cybersecurity engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategies and implementation (email, endpoint, network)
• Proficiency with Check Point Smart-1 (R82) security gateways and Endpoint Security (E88.x)
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 email architecture, Exchange, Outlook security
• Experience with security engineering, building and configuring security controls, not just monitoring
• Understanding of data exposure risks and mitigation strategies
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills

• Experience with ShareFile, OneDrive, or other cloud file sharing platforms
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview DLP and compliance tools
• Background in regulated or compliance-driven environments
• Knowledge of Zero Trust security principles
