Saw Operator -

Yoder Pallet Company in Swanton MD, is seeking a skilled Saw Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various saws and cutting equipment to ensure the efficient production of high-quality materials. We expect applicants to be committed, neat, hardworking, and able to put others first. Pay is hourly and paid on a weekly basis. Starting wage is based on production but averages between $16-$18 per hour, with the opportunity for continued advancement opportunities through merit and performance-based increases. The position is fast-paced and requires a desire to continually excel and grow. The position requires an understanding of tools and machinery, safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be in good physical condition, able to bend, twist and lift moderately heavy objects. Applicants should be committed to complying with safety rules and guidelines and production quality expectations, and able to work well both alone and on a team. Some mechanical skills are required but can be learned on the job.

Responsibilities

• Operate saws and cutting equipment with precision to fabricate materials according to specifications.
• Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of saws to ensure optimal performance.
• Utilize hand tools and tooling effectively to assist in the fabrication process.
• Adhere to safety protocols while operating machinery.
• Assist in the preparation of loads for shipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly after use.

Experience

• Experience as a Saw Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with hand tools is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot issues related to the operation of the saws is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

About the Interview Process:

Selected applicants will be required to complete an in-person job tryout as part of the interview process. This is not an offer of employment. The tryout provides an opportunity for applicants to better understand the environment, job tasks, team dynamic and performance expectations. Applicants will be compensated for their time during the job tryout.

Every applicant will not progress through the entire interview process. Only applicants identified as most qualified will be called to the next stage of the interview process.
