Now Hiring: SBA Portfolio Manager

The SBA Portfolio Manager is responsible for the prudent oversight of the SBA Lending portfolio, including loan servicing, financial and collateral analysis, risk identification, and reporting. This role plays a critical part in maintaining portfolio health, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting clients throughout the life of their SBA loans in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Contribute as the SBA Portfolio Manager

SBA Loan Portfolio Management & Compliance

  • Manage the bank’s SBA 7(a) loan portfolio, including servicing, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of SBA SOP 50 57, the Servicing and Liquidation Lender Matrix, and related regulatory guidance.
  • Request, analyze, and review borrower financial information required for annual and ongoing reviews.
  • Conduct or coordinate site visits and prepare routine and special portfolio reports.

Credit Risk Identification, Analysis & Workout Execution

  • Identify portfolio-level and loan-specific risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Recognize early warning signs of problem loans and take timely action to prevent further deterioration.
  • Analyze borrower financial performance and operating history to support credit recommendations.
  • Develop and execute loan workout strategies, including special asset management when required.

Stakeholder Collaboration, Client Service & Subject Matter Leadership

  • Provide responsive, high-quality service to SBA borrowers and internal partners.
  • Collaborate with credit, lending, legal, and operations teams to resolve complex loan issues.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource on SBA regulations, servicing standards, and agency guidance.

What You’ll Leverage in this Role:

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; can be substituted with relevant and extensive experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in SBA loan portfolio management, with a focus on special assets.

Banking & Fintech Acumen- are highly educated in financial products and services, applicable regulations and laws. You also possess strong overall business acumen and are well-versed in SBA SOP’s, guidelines, and regulations. You hold excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess financial statements, credit reports, and loan documentation.

Tech-Forward and Analytical Thinking - You are proficient in loan servicing systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). You also possess the ability to learn new tools quickly, are excited by innovation and leverage technology to optimize your work process.

Commitment to Being a Team Player - You possess the ability to work independently in a remote environment while contributing to a collaborative team effort. You lift others up, share ideas, and bring positive energy to everything you do. You’re dependable, communicate clearly and always happy to lend a hand where needed.


What to expect from your physical environment

  • Remote role within the United States; Eastern Standard Hours.
  • Occasional U.S. travel for company events or leadership sessions.
  • Sustained standing and sitting.
  • Frequent communication (speaking and listening) and use of PC, including typing or sustained attention to monitor.
  • Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
