Job Title: Scaffolding Design Engineer

Reports To: Scaffolding Operations Manager

Location: Doha, Qatar (office-based with site verification)

Job Summary: The Scaffolding Design Engineer is responsible for the structural design, analysis, and technical approval of scaffolding systems (tube & fitting, system scaffolds, cantilever, suspended, etc.). With a Structural Engineering background, this role ensures all designs are safe, efficient, compliant, and optimized for the project’s load, height, and site conditions, particularly for complex or high scaffolds requiring formal engineering approval.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed scaffolding design calculations, drawings, and schemes using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or scaffolding-specific tools).
• Perform structural analysis for load-bearing capacity, stability, wind loads, and tie requirements per TG20, BS EN 12811, or equivalent.
• Design complex scaffolds (heavy-duty, bridges, mobile, curved, or heights >12–15m) and provide independent design checks.
• Review and approve temporary works designs submitted by teams or subcontractors.
• Liaise with clients and consultants for design submissions and approvals.
• Conduct site surveys and provide technical support during erection for design compliance.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments related to design aspects.
• Ensure all designs comply with QCS, Qatar Civil Defense, and international scaffolding standards.
• Support tendering by providing preliminary designs and quantities.
• Maintain design records and as-built documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural focus (Master’s preferred).
• 5–8+ years of experience in scaffolding or temporary works design in Qatar/GCC.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools.
• Knowledge of CISRS, TG20, and scaffolding design codes.
• Experience with major clients (Ashghal, QatarEnergy, Lusail, etc.) is a strong advantage.

Pay: QAR7,000.00 - QAR10,000.00 per month
