Role: Academic Officer – DMR International School
Position Summary:
This position involves planning, supervising, and evaluating all educational programs and teaching standards while working closely with teachers, students, and administrative staff to ensure high academic performance and holistic development.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Academic Planning & Curriculum Management
- Develop and oversee the academic calendar in line with state board/syllabus timelines.
- Ensure effective implementation of curriculum across all grades.
- Recommend and support the use of innovative teaching methodologies and learning materials.
- Coordinate with teachers to design lesson plans that cater to diverse learners, including remedial and advanced learning.
- Monitor adherence to syllabus completion targets and learning objectives.
2. Teacher Support & Professional Development
- Guide, support, and mentor teachers in classroom management and instructional strategies.
- Plan and facilitate regular teacher training, workshops, and professional development sessions.
- Conduct periodic classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Assist in evaluating teacher performance and identifying areas for improvement.
3. Student Academic Monitoring & Support
- Track and monitor students’ academic progress, including regular assessments, exams, and remedial support.
- Analyse assessment results and work with teachers to create action plans for underperforming students.
- Coordinate parent-teacher meetings and keep parents informed about academic progress and support plans.
- Promote co-curricular and academic enrichment activities for student engagement.
4. Examination & Evaluation Management
- Plan and supervise all school-level assessments, examinations, and evaluations.
- Ensure timely preparation, printing, distribution, and collection of exam papers and answer scripts.
- Review grading systems, maintain result documentation, and analyse performance trends.
- Handle re-evaluation and grievance redressal related to academic performance.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Act as a bridge between school management, teaching staff, students, and parents.
- Maintain clear and regular communication with the Head of the Institution and HCHW management.
- Document academic meetings, decisions, and maintain records of curricular improvements.
- Represent the school in external academic forums and liaise with education authorities, if needed.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with education board regulations, policies, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain updated documentation of lesson plans, student performance, and academic audits.
- Promote quality assurance practices in teaching-learning processes.
- Assist in preparing school reports, academic records, and accreditation documents.
7. Innovation & Improvement
- Encourage the adoption of digital tools and technology in education.
- Initiate programs that foster critical thinking, creativity, and life skills among students.
- Keep updated with current educational trends, policies, and best practices.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Education or relevant subject.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teacher training degree is preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a teaching or school leadership role.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, leadership, and a student-centered approach to education.
