School-Age Child Care Teacher

Job Summary:
Christ the King School is seeking a dependable, energetic, and nurturing full-time School-Age Child Care Teacher to join our team. This position primarily focuses on leading and engaging with school-age children (grades K-5) in our before/after-school and summer programs.

Additionally, this role serves as a vital team player by floating to support our early childhood classrooms (ages 2, 3, and 4) as needed. The ideal candidate enjoys working across multiple age groups, thrives in a dynamic environment, and is passionate about supporting children's growth and development.

Schedule & Compensation

• Hours: Full-Time, 9:15 AM – 5:45 PM (Monday – Friday), 12 months/year
• Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities, games, and homework support for school-age children.
• Seamlessly transition and assist in the 2-year-old, 3-year-old, and 4-year-old classrooms to support early childhood teachers and maintain required ratios.
• Provide a safe, positive, and structured environment where all children are treated with compassion, dignity, and respect.
• Complete general daily cleanup after activities, crafts, and snacks.
• Maintain reliable, punctual attendance and communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and administration.
• Follow all Christ the King School policies, procedures, and complete all DHS training and background check requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ability to flex your teaching style across multiple age ranges, from toddlers (age 2) to school-age kids.
• Prior experience working with children in an educational, summer camp, or child care setting is preferred.
• Strong multitasking, time management, and classroom management skills.
• Basic understanding of child development principles for both early childhood and school-age milestones.
