School Age Group Leader

Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated School Age Group Leader to inspire and guide children during their after-school hours and camp activities. In this vital role, you will create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and grow. Your leadership will foster positive behavior, encourage creativity, and support childhood development through structured activities and personalized attention. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while promoting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Must have a Drivers License be 18+ years old, and have a High School diploma

Duties

  • Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities that promote learning, teamwork, and fun for school-aged children.
  • Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety at all times through vigilant classroom management.
  • Provide first aid when necessary, maintaining a calm and reassuring presence in emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to support each child's individual needs, including those requiring special education accommodations.
  • Facilitate sports coaching, arts and crafts, theater performances, or other enrichment programs to foster creativity and physical activity.
  • Support childhood development by implementing educational curricula aligned with early childhood education principles.

Skills

  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain order while fostering a positive atmosphere.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices relevant to school-age children.
  • Experience working with children in childcare settings such as daycare, camp programs, tutoring sessions, or babysitting roles.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR to ensure safety during all activities.
  • Familiarity with special education needs and behavior management strategies for diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively.
  • Passion for working with students and supporting their social-emotional growth through Christian counseling or mentorship when appropriate.
