Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dynamic curriculum tailored to the developmental stages of school-age children, incorporating elements of Montessori, literacy education, math, physical education, and special education strategies.
- Lead daily classroom activities that promote active learning, social skills, behavior management, and emotional well-being.
- Manage classroom environments effectively to foster safety, engagement, and positive behavior through proactive classroom management techniques.
- Collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists to support individualized education plans (IEPs) and early intervention programs for children with special needs.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods to monitor progress and inform instruction; adapt lesson plans accordingly.
- Incorporate diverse teaching methods such as tutoring, lesson planning, and hands-on activities to meet varied learning styles.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavior reports, and lesson plans while ensuring compliance with childcare regulations and educational standards.
- Support children’s welfare by promoting inclusive practices that respect cultural diversity and individual differences in a nurturing environment.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with school-age children in educational or childcare settings is essential; preschool or daycare experience is highly valued.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across multiple disciplines including literacy education, math, physical education, and early childhood education.
- Experience managing classrooms with diverse learners including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in behavior management to foster positive learning environments.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other child-centered educational philosophies is a plus.
- Previous experience working in private schools or similar educational institutions enhances your candidacy for this leadership role.
