Duties
- Plan and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and educational games that promote childhood development and social skills.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to ensure a safe, respectful environment.
- Supervise children during outdoor play, meals, rest periods, and field trips, ensuring safety at all times.
- Provide first aid when necessary, maintaining health and safety standards in compliance with camp policies.
- Support children with special needs by implementing individualized strategies aligned with their development plans and collaborating with specialists when needed.
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages teamwork, kindness, and Christian counseling principles to promote emotional well-being.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding their child's progress and any concerns that arise during camp activities.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, summer camp, tutoring, or childcare is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques to support diverse needs.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current on safety protocols.
- Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized, engaging environment conducive to learning and fun.
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, backgrounds, and abilities including those requiring special education support.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, parents, and external specialists.
- Passion for working with children combined with enthusiasm for leading sports coaching, theater activities, or other creative pursuits that enhance camp programming. Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Experience:
- working with school age children: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Preferred)
