Join the team at Boston Avenue Weekday School as a School Age teacher for K-3rd grade students, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for children during the exciting summer months. Responsibilities
- Available to participate in training and set up at least one day during the week of May 26-29, 2026.
- Available for classroom schedule June 1 - August 14 (end date may be flexible).
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, science, math, literacy, and field trips.
- Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants
- Assist with daily routines such as snack time, lunch, restroom breaks, and transition activities
- Support children's emotional and behavioral needs through effective behavior management techniques
- Create lesson plans based on three confirmed summer themes.
- Use ProCare app to input daily activities
- Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently, including first aid procedures when necessary.
- Skills
- Strong classroom management skills to ensure a flexible yet structured environment, while encouraging fun and participation
- Knowledge of early childhood education and childhood development best practices
- Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively
- First aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to start date
- Excellent communication skills to connect with children, parents, and team members
