Duties

• Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients for daily meals
• Support the cooking process by following recipes and safety guidelines to ensure high-quality meal production
• Serve meals to students and staff in a friendly, efficient manner, maintaining excellent food handling practices
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, utensils, and storage areas in compliance with food safety standards
• Help with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals and ensuring availability of necessary supplies
• Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
• Support catering events or special school functions as needed, providing excellent service and meal presentation

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a dietary department, restaurant, or food industry setting is highly desirable
• Experience as a dietary aide or in food service roles demonstrating strong food handling skills
• Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques suitable for a school environment
• Demonstrated ability to handle knives safely and efficiently during food prep tasks
• Familiarity with food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures
• Excellent communication skills to serve students and collaborate with team members effectively
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
