Position: School Librarian
Reports to: Principal / Academic Coordinator
Job Purpose:
The School Librarian is responsible for managing the school library, supporting teaching and learning, and fostering a love for reading among students. The role involves organizing library resources, assisting students and staff with research, and maintaining an environment that promotes literacy and learning.
Key Responsibilities:Library Management
- Organize, catalog, and maintain all library books, digital resources, and materials.
- Ensure the library is clean, orderly, and conducive to learning.
- Manage library circulation: issue, return, renew books, and track overdue materials.
- Maintain an updated inventory and prepare regular reports.
Student Support
- Assist students in locating books and reference materials.
- Promote reading habits through book displays, reading programs, and activities.
- Guide students on how to use library resources effectively (both physical and digital).
- Support students with basic research skills.
Staff Support
- Collaborate with teachers to provide resources that support classroom learning.
- Recommend books and materials to enhance teaching.
- Help teachers integrate library resources into lesson plans.
Library Programs
- Plan and conduct reading clubs, book fairs, storytelling sessions, and literacy events.
- Encourage students to participate in reading challenges and competitions.
Technology & Digital Resources
- Manage digital databases, e-books, and online learning tools.
- Assist students and teachers in accessing digital information safely and effectively.
- Ensure library computers and technology are properly used and maintained.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain library budget and request new materials as needed.
- Follow school policies and procedures related to library operations.
- Supervise students during library hours and ensure discipline.

Pay: QAR3,500.00 - QAR5,000.00 per month
