Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about literacy education and possess a strong ability to communicate effectively with students and staff. This role involves managing library resources, providing research assistance, and fostering a love of reading among students. The Librarian will play a crucial role in supporting classroom management and enhancing the learning environment.

Duties

• Manage and organize library resources using an Integrated Library System to ensure easy access for students and faculty.
• Assist students in research projects by providing guidance on information retrieval and effective use of library resources.
• Develop and implement literacy education programs that promote reading and learning among students.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into classroom activities, enhancing overall educational outcomes.
• Maintain an engaging library environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for reading.
• Conduct workshops and training sessions on learning technology to help students utilize digital resources effectively.
• Monitor student behavior within the library, employing behavior management strategies to maintain a positive atmosphere.
• Write reports and documentation related to library activities, programs, and student engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field is preferred. Or receive a sub certification or willing to substitute certification.
• Experience working with students in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques to support a conducive learning environment.
• Knowledge of research methodologies and ability to assist students in developing their research skills.
• Proficiency in using learning technology tools relevant to library operations and student engagement.
• A passion for literacy education and commitment to fostering a positive reading culture within the school community.
