Spokane International Academy is seeking a School Psychologist to lead the assessment and academic programming process for students who qualify for special education services. This individual will work collaboratively with the Special Education team and the Director of Special Education to support student success, ensure high-quality service delivery, and maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local special education requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations to determine eligibility for special education services.

Analyze and interpret assessment data and prepare clear, comprehensive evaluation reports that identify student strengths, needs, and recommendations.

Conduct student observations and provide written summaries to support evaluation and intervention planning.

Develop practical, research-based recommendations and interventions aligned to student needs identified through assessment, observation, and team collaboration.

Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and support the development of Positive Behavior Support Plans and Behavior Intervention Plans as needed.

Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, families, and related service providers to support students who are at risk of academic or behavioral difficulties.

Support multidisciplinary teams in developing and monitoring individualized interventions and supports for students.

Provide consultation and guidance to staff and families regarding behavior management strategies, social-emotional supports, and academic interventions.

Provide social skills instruction, counseling support, or small group interventions for students as appropriate.

Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement academic, behavioral, social, and functional support for students.

Participate in eligibility meetings, IEP meetings, manifestation determination meetings, behavior support meetings, and other student support meetings as needed.

Clearly communicate assessment results, recommendations, and intervention strategies to families and school teams.

Coordinate and collaborate with outside agencies, service providers, and community resources to support students and families.

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with students, families, staff, and community partners.

Interpret and implement federal, state, and school regulations, policies, and procedures related to special education services and tiered intervention frameworks.

Maintain organized and timely records, reports, and documentation in compliance with FERPA and all applicable legal requirements.

Manage and prioritize responsibilities to ensure the timely completion of evaluations, reports, and compliance requirements.

Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and ongoing training opportunities.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Valid Washington State ESA (Educational Staff Associate) Certificate with School Psychologist endorsement.

Master’s degree, Educational Specialist (Ed.S.), or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.

Successful completion of an approved School Psychology internship program.

Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and procedures, including IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and Washington Administrative Code (WAC) requirements.

Experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment data for eligibility determination and educational planning.

Ability to write comprehensive evaluation reports and communicate findings clearly to staff and families.

Strong understanding of academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental supports for students.

Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, educators, families, and community agencies.

Strong organizational, time management, and case management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Experience working in a K–12 public charter school setting.

Experience working as a school psychologist in an educational setting

Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional/behavioral disabilities, and complex behavioral needs.

Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

Knowledge of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) frameworks.

Experience providing counseling, social skills instruction, or behavioral consultation services.

Familiarity with Medicaid billing, special education compliance systems, and state reporting requirements.

Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.

Salary: $60,085 - $100,000
