The School District of West Allis-West Milwaukee is currently seeking a School Psychologist for the current 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time position.

School Psychologists support school MLSS teams in structure, format and processing students who are referred as well as developing intervention plans. The School Psychologist is directly responsible for the psychological assessment of cognitive, social, emotional and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluation tools and leads IEP evaluation team meetings. School Psychologists collaborate with the school administration team and other student services staff to provide small group and individualized mental health interventions.

Qualifications:
  • Valid Wisconsin DPI-issued license for School Psychology, or be able to obtain one for the 25-26 school year.
  • Knowledge of methods of assessment; systematic processes to collect data, translate assessment results into empirically based decisions about service delivery and evaluate outcomes of services.
  • Knowledge of learning processes, appropriate instructional interventions to meet students’ needs, and the ability to implement and assess their effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of behavioral mental health, collaborative and/or consultation models and methods and their application.
  • Experience in Trauma-Informed Care, Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS), Mindfulness, and/or Restorative Practices preferred.
  • Willingness to collaborate and work as a team.

Specific Duties:
  • Conduct psychological assessments, interpret results and write reports.
  • Lead IEP evaluation team meetings and submit paperwork.
  • Support the development and implementation of MLSS in schools.
  • Assist in building emergency crisis response.
  • Provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans.
  • Provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions for students.
  • Collaborate with student services staff to provide small group and individual mental health interventions.
  • Assist in professional development for staff, parents and community.
  • Other duties as assigned by the School Principal and the Director/Assistant Superintendent.
