    SALARY PLACEMENT: $43,000 annually, plus employee benefits
    POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
    Lane Education Service District (Lane ESD) is recruiting a full-time School Psychology Intern to provide supervised school psychology services to rural component school districts within the Lane ESD service area. This position is designed to provide structured, hands-on training aligned with graduate program requirements and licensure standards established by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.
    Under the supervision of a licensed school psychologist, the intern will participate in psychoeducational evaluations; assist with assessment interpretation and report writing; engage in consultation with educators, administrators, families, and school teams; support intervention planning and data-based decision-making; and attend eligibility and IEP meetings. The intern will be based at the Lane ESD office and will travel to assigned rural districts four (4) days per week, with one (1) day designated for documentation, supervision, and professional development at the Lane ESD office or approved remote location.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Under the direction and supervision of a licensed school psychologist, the School Psychology Intern will:
    • Conduct Assessments and Support Data-Based Interventions by:
      • Participating in psychoeducational evaluations and related assessment activities in accordance with district procedures and applicable regulations.
      • Administering, scoring, and assisting in the interpretation of standardized and curriculum-based assessments.
      • Assisting in preparing evaluation reports and related documentation.
      • Assisting in planning, implementing, and monitoring interventions based on evaluation results and ongoing student data.
    • Collaborate with Teams and Families by:
      • Engaging with school teams, educators, administrators, and families to share evaluation results and support student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
      • Attending referral, evaluation planning, eligibility determination, Individualized Education Program (IEP), and other multidisciplinary team meetings.
    • Complete Internship and Licensure Requirements by:
      • Fulfilling internship requirements consistent with graduate program expectations and licensure standards established by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.
      • Performing additional duties that may be assigned consistent with the scope of the internship and level of training.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
    Education
    • Enrollment in or completion of an accredited School Psychology graduate program.
    • Eligibility for School Psychology Intern or equivalent authorization through the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.

    Experience
    • Coursework or field experience in psychoeducational assessment, intervention planning, and consultation with students, families, and school staff.
    • Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams is preferred.
    • Ability to travel to rural school districts within the Lane ESD service area.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Familiarity with psychoeducational assessment tools and procedures.
    • Understanding of intervention strategies and data-based decision-making.
    • Knowledge of educational laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to school psychology.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
    • Proficiency in preparing clear and professional documentation and reports.
    • Demonstrated collaboration, problem-solving, and professional conduct in school or clinical settings.
    • Ability to engage effectively with students, families, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
    • Capacity to apply knowledge and skills to support student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    The position requires minimal to moderate physical exertion. The employee is normally standing, walking, or sitting as required. Occasionally, the employee may lift or carry materials/supplies up to 20 lbs. May be required to lift, bend, support, or assist students whose handicapping condition or behavior requires adult support or intervention.

    WORKING CONDITIONS
    This position requires travel between multiple work sites. Generally, work is performed indoors in a clean, non-hazardous environment, though some activities may occur in community or off-site settings. The employee may occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids due to student injury, illness, or behavior. The employee may encounter inclement weather when moving between locations.

    • Perform program responsibilities in accordance with statutes, OARs, administrative rules, policies, and collective bargaining agreements.

    EVALUATION:
    Supervision will be provided by a licensed, experienced school psychologist. Weekly, scheduled supervision hours will be provided to support internship and licensure requirements.

    Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of Board policy and the evaluation program adopted for the position.
