Title: School Violence Interrupter
Salary: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour plus benefits
Reports to: Program Director
Status: Full Time, (40 hours/week), Non-Exempt
The School Violence Interrupters, along with the API Community Resources Network, is responsible for addressing behavioral disruptions and incidents of violence on school campuses through linguistic or culturally competent programs and holistic services. This includes establishing relationships with stakeholders to facilitate effective reporting systems for service linkage, immediate intervention, and conflict mediation in response to incidents of violence involving the AAPI community and within the school communities. This initiative will be a collaborative effort between DCYF, SFUSD, the Juvenile Justice Department, and other community-based organizations, such as YCD, SCDC, and YMCA OMI Beacon, to provide comprehensive crisis support services.
The CYC’s School Violence Interrupter is tasked with forming initial contact with the youth at schools and in our community prior to making further contact with family and/or caretakers to understand the context and assess the needs of our clients. In partnership with the internal behavioral health staff, the School Violence Interrupter will make proper referrals to connect in-needs youth clients to our behavioral health and intervention services for counseling work, case management services, and assessment for recommendation to internal services or community resources based on their diverse needs.
