Science Teacher - Castle High School

Purpose of Position

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

Qualifications

A. Bachelor’s degree of related subject from accredited university.

B. Indiana teaching certificate. The successful candidate must be licensed to teach High School Science. ALTERNATE LICENSING WILL BE CONSIDERED.

C. Experience is preferred, but not necessary for hiring.

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

A. Develops and implements plans for the curriculum program assigned and shows written evidence of preparation as required.

B. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.

C. Presents the subject matter according to guidelines established by Indiana

Department of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations.

D. Plans and uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, and materials.

E. Conducts assessment of student learning styles and use results for instructional activities.

F. Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students.

G. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning and implementing instructional goals, objectives, and methods.

H. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s).

I. Uses technologies in the teaching/learning process.

J. Assists students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.

K. Consistently assesses student achievement through formal and informal testing.

L. Assumes responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned and may sponsor outside activities approved by the school.

M. Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school.

N. Manages student behavior in the classroom and administers discipline according to board policies and administrative regulations.

O. Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with students and their parents.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $92,028.00 per year
