Schedule

About Community Collaboration of Delaware

Community Collaboration of Delaware (CCD) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening communities through recovery support, prevention, education, and advocacy. CCD operates multiple FSARR-certified recovery residences and provides recovery support services for individuals affected by substance use disorders.

Position Summary

Help People Find Recovery, Hope, and Support

Community Collaboration of Delaware (CCD) is seeking a full-time SCORI Peer Outreach Specialist to support the Seaford Community Opioid and Substance Use Disorder Response Initiative (SCORI).

This position provides community-based outreach, harm reduction services, recovery support, and treatment navigation to individuals affected by substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. The SCORI Peer Outreach Specialist works directly in the community, helping individuals connect with treatment, recovery supports, healthcare services, housing resources, and other community services.

The ideal candidate is comfortable meeting people where they are, building trust with individuals facing complex challenges, and supporting recovery through a trauma-informed, non-judgmental approach.

This is not an office-based position. The majority of work occurs in the community through outreach, engagement, relationship building, and service navigation.

Responsibilities

· Conduct community outreach in Seaford and surrounding areas

· Engage individuals affected by substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions

· Provide peer support based on lived recovery experience

· Distribute naloxone and other harm reduction supplies

· Conduct overdose prevention education

· Assist participants with accessing treatment, healthcare, housing, and recovery services

· Facilitate warm hand-offs and referrals to community providers

· Participate in community events, trainings, and outreach activities

· Complete required documentation and data collection

· Collaborate with community partners and service providers

· Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality

Minimum Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or GED

· Lived experience in recovery from a substance use disorder and/or co-occurring substance use and mental health disorder

· Ability to appropriately use lived experience to support others in recovery

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

· Ability to work independently in community settings

· Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

· Basic computer skills

· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Preferred

· Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS)

· Experience providing peer support, outreach, recovery coaching, case management support, or harm reduction services

· Experience working with justice-involved individuals

· Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness

· Experience working with co-occurring mental health conditions
