Scrap Metal Scale Operator

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Scrap Yard Operator to assist with the daily operations of a small-scale scrap yard. This role involves handling, sorting, and processing scrap materials, assisting customers, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, separate, and organize various types of scrap metal and materials
• Operate basic equipment such as forklifts, loaders, or hand tools (training provided if needed)
• Assist customers with unloading materials and provide excellent customer service
• Weigh and record incoming and outgoing materials accurately
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Perform general labor tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a scrapyard, recycling, or labor-related role is a plus
• Ability to lift heavy materials (50+ lbs) and work in outdoor conditions
• Basic mechanical skills are helpful
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

• Forklift or equipment operation experience
• Knowledge of different types of metals and recyclable materials
• Basic math and record-keeping skills

Work Environment:

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
• Physically demanding, hands-on role
